The Fantaskticks Book and Lyrics by Tom Jones, Music by Harvey Schmidt, A Sentimental Musical
Truly a musical for everyone, it reveals the folly and fragility of young love, age and human nature with whimsy and poignancy. We will recognize a bit of ourselves in its characters and situations and smile at what we once were, are, and perhaps may always be. This musical is fresh and appealing with over 10,000 performances on and off Broadway.

 

October/November 2006

The Contrite Spirit by Dennis J. Harrington, A Mystery Comedy
A young graphic artist works our of his newly purchased home which once belonged to a Colonel Scott who haunts the residence and enlists the aid of the artist to help the Colonel atone for his earthly sins in life. In the meantime, a neighbor who knows the story of the supposed buried treasure on the site tries to take the property from the artist. A female freelance writer photographer uncovers the truth and all ends happy for everyone.

Rumors by Neil Simon, A Comedy

Four couples are invited to attend a 10th wedding anniversary party for a New York deputy mayor. However, the party never begins because the host has shot himself (barely) and his wife is missing. The cover-up grows progressively harder to sustain as more guests arrive and nobody can remember who has been told what. As the situation becomes more crazed, the partygoers become more confused. Funny to the side-splitting end!

First Baptist of Ivey Gap
by Ron Osborne, A Poignant Comedy
The church is preparing for its 75th anniversary celebration when we meet six ladies in the church convocation hall. They have dreams, hope, ambitions, and disappointments to discuss, and the celebration to plan in Act One. In Act Two, it is 25 years later and much has changed with the ladies and their lives. Now we see them planning for the 100th anniversary celebration. Come meet these ladies and see someone you know.

State Fair Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Book by Tom Briggs & Louis Mattioli, A Musical
The Frake family is getting ready for the Iowa State Fair with high hopes set on winning prizes and having fun. Romance blossoms, young people discover their dreams, and everyone sees the world from a different point of view as they enjoy the fun and excitement of the fair events and contests. Come visit Iowa and remember the good old days, innocence and all.
